Two young black men, dressed like most young men (of every color) dress are followed around Publix by a white worker who seems to think they’re going to steal something. They purposely allow him to know he’s being recorded in hopes that it will stop, but he continues to follow them anyway all the way to the counter. They stopped him and asked him why he was following them and he said “I can go wherever I want.”

Maybe it’s not cos they are black, maybe it’s cos they are young men. Teenagers of all colours like to steal. Gah, I’m so sick of people thinking everything revolves around them cos they are a certain colour. LOL. I wanted to be different, but srsly could be cos they are teens - not cos they are dark.

lol actually, it very well could be because of their race. i’m not denying their age may not be a factor but you’re kidding yourself if you don’t think black people (especially black men) in a store aren’t often perceived as shoplifters or a threat.

“i’m so sick of people thinking everything revolves around them cos they are a certain color”

translation: i’m so sick of poc acknowledging and speaking up about everyday racism because it makes me uncomfortable to confront the fact that i have privilege.

LOL ACTUALLY - it is most likely their race, I was just pointing out another factor that it MAY VERY WELL BE. &+ actually that’s not wot “I’m so sick of people thinking everything revolves around them cos they are a certain color” means. Translation: I’m just doing this to be a dick, cos it’s probably the fact that they are black - but there is a very good possibility they were followed for a different reason. But as I said “I’m so sick of people thinking everything revolves around them cos they are a certain color” - cos it’s not always about colour. I mean c’mon, read the news people - their people give them bad reputation. NO, I am NOT saying that all black people steal cos that would be me being a racist sterotyping cunt. It’s a fact that most of the crime population you see on TV, online, in papers are of colour. So the bad black people are giving bad reputation to innocent black kids like the ones in the video.

Call me a racist, I don’t fucking care cos I know I’m not one.

LOL I AM SO FUCKING DONE

LOL AT YOU

OH MY FUCKING GOD. I read some of her posts and honestly, it’s one of the most privileged, racist pieces of shit I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading.

Just throwing in what I know: When I worked in retail the loss-prevention manager (the store’s fake-cop) would profile each and every black person that entered. He’d watch their every move on the cameras. Even when it’s not this blatant, it’s still there. I was floored when I found out.
